Blue skies and statement hotel architecture; is there a better shooting location? Probably not, so on day 2 of my work Ibiza trip, I threw on this airy cotton shirt dress from Monki over the top of my Moschino swimsuit, and went for a wander. Admittedly, these photos don’t do this dress justice – is an oversized look ever photographed well? – but it was beautifully cool and breezy for a day spent at sea, sailing on the Mediterranean on a private yacht. (No bragging here, honestly…)
If there was a competition for ‘who’s had the best first day at work’, I reckon I’d win – because, on day one, I got told I was jet-setting off to Ibiza for a VIP brand launch party. Is this the dream? Quite possibly.
I’ve been shifty AF over the last few weeks about who I work for, as the brand was smothered in secrecy before the big reveal; honestly, I sounded like a James Bond wannabe when describing the sitch to my friends. Now, I can actually say that I’ve been working on I Saw It First, a new fast fashion site – I’m sure you’re all RELIEVED that’s out in the open, right? (Not.)
The brand launch was at Ocean Beach Club in Ibiza, with all the staff, some bloggers and a dollop of guilty-pleasure-telly celebs in attendance. The brand is all about staying on trend, feeling confident and looking faaaabulous, so this setting was pretty damn perfect; white loungers, a pool I wanted to wallow like a hippo in all day, and such an amazing vibe. The launch itself was possibly one of the most amazing things I’ve ever been to for my career – everyone was so excited about I Saw It First that it didn’t even feel like work, and the buzz in the air was legit infectious. In short? I’ve never felt so lucky to work in fashion.
Take a look at some of my behind-the-scenes shots of the I Saw It First launch. Apologies in advance for those with a nervous disposition: you may see me in swimwear.

There aren’t many things in life that I actively hate; there are a lot that I dislike, or am skeptical about, but I think the word ‘hate’ should be reserved for that all-consuming loathing you just can’t escape from. So, in turn: I hate wearing swimwear.

I’m really into high necks this year; I find them super flattering and really easy to style. However, a thick turtleneck sweater probably isn’t the best choice for the sweltering Marbella sunshine, so instead I chose this black lattice-neck playsuit – a snip for only £5 from Primark.

Swimwear and I don’t get on. Unfortunately, due to my love of cake and hatred of sweating, I’m not particularly svelte and therefore despise wandering around in (basically) underwear on the beach; there’s no strategic way to hide any lumps and bumps – it’s all out on display (sorry, everybody…)
