I love a good, solid, wear-them-everyday pair of jeans. I’m always on the hunt for a pair that will withstand the love I throw at them, but stay looking stylish; a pair that aren’t too expensive, but not cheap and flimsy. I like to wear my jeans from my desk out for drinks, so they need to be the right combo of casual, tailored, and fashionable – which can be quite the pickle to find. Luckily, the new AW17 And/Or collection from John Lewis is here, which not only solves my denim drama, but also the dilemma of ‘jeans and a nice top’…

The new And/Or collection from John Lewis ticks all of my style boxes – which, for someone as picky as me, is pretty rare. The autumnal drop of the capsule collection focusses heavily on their beautifully-crafted, LA-made denim; it’s had a revamp from the previous season, as AW17 has a brand new array of washes, finishes and detailing that I’m a little in love with. My personal favourite are the super wide-leg Westlake jeans, which feauture a cropped length and wider, on-trend silhouette – I want to wear these all winter long with sloppy jumpers and big, hide-my-face scarves…

Not just denim, though – the And/Or collection solves my eternal style crisis of ‘oh, just wear jeans and a nice top!’. My life is trying to hunt down this elusive ‘nice top’ (seriously, is that a blouse? A jumper? Why isn’t there a shop dedicated to nice tops?), but thanks to And/Or, I’m pretty much set. There’s big, soft, slouchy knits, oversized sloppy jumpers (that I’m seriously lusting after), and then more elegant styles – this Savannah blouse has definitely caught my eye with its Scandi vibes, and the Persian-inspired Roxy jacket is next-level-gorgeous. NEED.

And, because it’s me, of course I’m going to mention the shoes (duh): I am one click away from ordering these studded Chelsea boots and I’ve basically planned my entire AW17 wardrobe around the red stiletto booties. Honestly – someone come and wrench my credit card out of my hands, please…
