I absolutely love Gay Pride. It has such an infectious vibe that you can’t help but get involved – everyone is happy, everyone is having fun, and everyone looks bloody brilliant.
I spent last Friday dancing (like an idiot) to a bit of ABBA in Baa Bar in Deansgate. I went for a fairly low-key look that night – I figured I was going to get pretty dishevelled with all the dancing, walking and cocktail-drinking, so didn’t want anything too high maintenance. Here’s a rundown of the products used…
Gay Pride Glamour
After concealing my dark or red patches with Seventeen Phwoaar Paint Concealer, I used my trusty Estee Lauder Doublewear as foundation. I used the Clinique Contour Chubby Stick and MaxFactor Lasting Performance Foundation in Ivory to contour, using a damp stippling brush and beauty blender to get everything even.
I dusted over a touch of MAC Pro Set Powder in Invisible, before loading up the brush and baking on my nose, forehead, chin and cheekbones with the same powder.
The Seventeen Define and Contour Kit was used for powder contour, and MUA Bronzer in Shade 1 was used to give my cheeks a tanned glow. Chanel Jous Contrastes Blush added some colour, with MAC Blush Pink Highlighting Powder used to strobe.
The MAC powder was buffed into the skin, before I repeated the baking process with Ben Nye Luxury Banana Powder. I left this on whilst finishing my look, before blending it in with a Laura Mercier Finishing Brush.
After tweezing my unruly brows with my Tweezermans, eyebrows were tamed with Anastasia Dipbrow in Dark Brown, and outlined for a crisper finish with the Collection Work the Colour Eyebrow Kit brunette powder.
A neutral smokey eye was acheived using colours from the Narsissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette and the Makeup Revolution Iconic 1 Palette respectively. (You guys know what I’m like with eyeshadow – I just play about until it looks half decent…)
Liner is my favourite Sleek Dip It on the lash line, and Collection Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner on the waterline. This was finished off with a slick of Benefit They’re Real! Masccara and Eylure Exaggerate False Lashes in Number 145.
Lips were lined with MAC Whirl Lipliner and blended with MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer in Halcyon. A slick of Nars Lipgloss in Orgasm made the matte lip a little more jazzy.
I used my absolute favourite extensions here – they’re the Quad Weft Extensions from Dirty Looks in shade Espresso. As I was going for big (BIG) hair, I added in a few older ones from Pukka Hair – not sure of the shade here – and curled the ends using my Corioliss hair straighteners.
